Unigolyn

Check out Unigolyn, "an individual from Estonia." Especially this post, about looting and anarchy after a totalitarian regime falls. And I am glad I was right about the site description -- it is in Welsh. I just have one question: why Welsh and not Estonian?

Well, simple - my long-standing internet handle has been 'unigolyn', the Welsh word for 'individual'. It's also the name of my blog. Since the word 'individual' appears in my site description, I thought having a welsh version of it would be a good way to explain my handle and the name of the blog.

And why not Estonian? Well, my blog's not in Estonian, so it wouldn't make much sense.

Well -- yes, but it's not in Welsh either. (Don't misunderstand -- I am not criticizing, I am actually fascinated by both the Welsh and the Estonian language and wondered what the connection was.)

True, then again I'm a welshophile and try to use it wherever possible :)

Oh, and my first impression was that you were chastising me on my bad Welsh. How's that for insecure?

Oh, I couldn't criticize -- I don't speak a word of it! I'm fascinated by it anyway, though.
